Nebraska’s First Lady Sally Ganem spoke to a group of concerned citizens, along with a panel of law enforcement and civic leaders, at North Platte High School on Monday. Ganem discussed underage drinking and said she believes that education is the key to preventing underage drinking, but that the education must start with the adults.

State leaders discuss new ways to combat underage drinking (News 10 Now Syracuse)

With prom season just around the corner, state leaders are already talking about ways to further combat underage drinking. Some say extending a law that tracks the purchase of kegs could do just that, but, has the keg registration law really stopped underage drinking? Not everybody thinks so. Driver Makes DWI Arrest Easy for Police (East Aurora Advertiser)

Law enforcement looks for drop in DWI arrests during Fiesta (KENS 5 San Antonio)

New plans are in the works this year to prevent drinking and driving during Fiesta. Last year, there were 54 DWI arrests during Fiesta on the third traffic shift. The city is hoping to lower that figure.

DWI Arrest in Elma (East Aurora Advertiser)

Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Ely stopped a vehicle on March 21 for allegedly traveling 73 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone and failing to stop at a red light. The incident occurred on Clinton Street in Elma around 1:30 a.m. The driver, a 46-year-old Eastwood Drive, East Aurora, man, reportedly failed several field sobriety tests and was taken to the Erie County Holding Center …
